Pay attention! Are you deaf? Open your eyes! Are you blind? You’re my servant, and you’re not looking! You’re my messenger, and you’re not listening! The very people I depended upon, servants of God, blind as a bat—willfully blind! You’ve seen a lot, but looked at nothing. You’ve heard everything, but listened to nothing. God intended, out of the goodness of his heart, to be lavish in his revelation. But this is a people battered and cowed, shut up in attics and closets, Victims licking their wounds, feeling ignored, abandoned.

But is anyone out there listening? Is anyone paying attention to what’s coming? Who do you think turned Jacob over to the thugs, let loose the robbers on Israel? Wasn’t it God himself, this God against whom we’ve sinned— not doing what he commanded, not listening to what he said? Isn’t it God’s anger that’s behind all this, God’s punishing power? Their whole world collapsed but they still didn’t get it; their life is in ruins but they don’t take it to heart.

I can guarantee you, I am no “fan” of Eugene Peterson’s The Message, but this passage here so vividly (and ironically) captures the state of the professing Body of Christ in this hour, I just couldn’t resist using it. Called by God to be the “pillar and ground of the truth” in the world (I Tim 3:15), are there a people more clueless than us? Even the “godless liberals” Church people have been railing on since the days of Saint Ronald Reagan, have more insight into the “signs of the times” we’ve been called to “watch” for (Lu 21:34-36).

Even as I write this in the summer of 2023, medical doctors are alarmed at how many people are receiving 2nd and 3rd degree burns from a record heat wave sweeping the world. This is not the result of sunburn, but people passing out so thoroughly that they land on the pavement where their very flesh gets cooked. Climate scientists are so alarmed by the 300 tons of carbon being thrown into the earth’s atmosphere every year now, that they are moving up their time schedules for doomsday. Phoenix, Arizona may soon become uninhabitable since they are being forced to ration air conditioning, even now.

All this “global warming” is as obvious as the nose on his face to a climate scientist. Even God bears witness to this phenomenon in the book of Revelation at a time when men will blame Him for the heat, yet still not repent (16:8,9).

Yet what are Christians hearing on a daily basis from media outlets funded by right-wing billionaire fossil fuel greedsters, the modern day “thugs” and “robbers” alluded to above? That’s right, that it’s all a hoax. Windmills cause cancer, and global warming isn’t caused by man, if it’s even a “thing” at all. And no twit bellowing out (Jer 50:11) that clueless message does it louder or more often than the one-time President and presumptive Republican nominee for 2024, Donald John Trump.

It’s important to understand however, that although this “one sinner” in all his singular awfulness has done more than anyone else to drive the United States, the “leader of the free world,” into the ground, you can’t say he’s entirely to blame for the situation. What we are suffering from is a situation that’s been, as the song puts it, a long time coming. The Republican Party sold its initial progressive soul to wealthy oligarchs going back as far as the days of the Robber Barons, and really have turned on the heat ever since the Reagan Revolution.

Indeed, a large part of this site’s mission is to get you to see what a huge mistake was made by Evangelicals in the late 1970s in trying to save America through power politics, and do it by selling our souls to just one party, and arguably the worst party of the two once you understand its games. Just like the Bible teaches, moral collapse and decadence always begin at the top, with the ascendancy of an evil king or rich people out of control. It should make sense then that an oligarch as entitled as Trump, should ride into the situation to drive its ridiculous logic off the cliff altogether.

The reason for a short time of world upheaval at the end of the age is simply because God could see down the centuries that the growth of man’s knowledge (Dan 12:4) in the last days, especially tech knowledge, would outstrip his morality. In my youth the first occasion for this was the US/Soviet nuclear arms race, which gave human beings the first time in history the ability to destroy themselves many times over.[i] Today, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the latest threat to be added to the list, mostly being promoted by naive “tech bro” billionaires.

Yet what kinds of things are America’s right-wingers (including Christians) bent out of shape about lately? That’s right. The all-consuming “culture war,” mostly centered around sex-based issues. Last weekend as I write was dubbed by many “Barbenheimmer,” a cataclysmic event wherein both the Barbie and Oppenheimer movies perfectly aligned to premier on the same weekend. Maybe it should have been called Barmageddon or the Barbie-ocalypse, considering how much Barbie triggered so many on the right, with denunciations of its “wokeness” and presumed assaults upon the patriarchy.

It was of course none of that. When Ken got back home to Barbieland, he organized a coup with the other Kens to establish a patriarchy/monarchy called Kendom. It was only after all the Barbies got together, brainstormed and called to remembrance how women have always controlled men through flattery, seduction, manipulation and the like, that they managed to “take back” Barbieland and restore its Constitution and greatness.

Some wokeness, some patriarchy. The movie was a loving tribute to an iconic toy to millions of girls and women on one level, yet more importantly one big satire of a laundry list of idols to right-wing men on the other. No wonder they couldn’t get the joke! Jokes and humor are only found in free, self-governing societies. Everything’s so ultra-serious in a dictatorship, lest the thin-skinned Dear Leader and his proud, tough guy followers get their feelings hurt.

The other movie of course was about a real-life scientist and his story about the start of the nuclear age. You know, with those weapons that still, to this day 70 years later, have the ability to destroy us several times over? That story, like the collective yawn from today’s blind-as-bats apologists for fossil fuel thugs, is not nearly as interesting or alarming.

Can God Make It Any Easier?

I do sympathize with the human race over the situation though. Figuring out reality from the time Adam and Eve were planted in the Garden has never been easy, and in today’s modern age with the “increase in knowledge” that deluges us (Dan 12:4), it’s harder than ever.

And little sympathy seems to come from God as well. Not only are the current events of our times mysterious, full of intrigue, and hard to figure out, but the prophecy clues He’s given us are many and mysterious as well. Nevertheless, God seems to expect we should be able to at least try to show a little more discernment, a little more common sense, a little more moral common sense, and a little more willingness, to “stay watchful.”

This is why I’ve decided to make the person and clues about the Antichrist foremost as a theme. It’s not just that this character is so central to the last days mysteries himself. It’s that all the evil, dishonesty and self-delusion of our time is so embodied in him, that it tends to cover all these other issues in the process. After all, I want to keep this as simple as possible.

In fact, understanding Donald Trump’s role of being a false Church messiah, let alone a runaway wanna-be political dictator, is becoming so obvious that I almost feel irrelevant in having to explain it in detail. Like this site’s tagline puts it, all I have to do is say the quiet part out loud. Just consider this detailed indictment of Donald Trump’s pretentions to be the Anti-Christ made by Chauncy De Vega, a “secular” writer. It’s all you need to wake and shake you at this early stage.

By all indications, Donald Trump is headed for this destiny. Indeed, he seems to want to embrace it, if for no other reason than that audacity is his brand. If it will make him go down in history more famous than he already is, he’ll wear it as a badge of honor. Some people just love to glory in their shame (Phil 3:19).

My question is, Why would you want to go down with him? Do you not see that he has created a controversy so fundamental as to ultimately test your eternal destiny, depending on what side of it you come down on?

To pull you out of this fire (Jude 1:23), save you from such madness (Eccl 9:3), and help you find your way home to Heaven is what this website is about. I hope it serves you well.

Donald-Trump-Antichrist.com is a combination study/news commentary site. The longer articles are the former, the latter, observations about breaking news as it relates to the fast-approaching Great Tribulation period. But there are some articles that are pretty foundational.
