Donald Trump, Shameless Liar

Doing what he does best.

After being convicted of all 34 felony counts in a New York City courtroom Thursday, May 30, 2024, Donald Trump did what he does best—shamelessly lie his way through a statement outside to the press.

MAGA world is already trying to spin this as persecution of an innocent victim, of piling on by the Deep State somehow, to get rid of him. They will claim it is a conspiracy by the “Biden Crime Family” to railroad him, though he was convicted by a jury of his peers.

They will claim it is political. Of course it is. It is also perfectly just and appropriate, something cynics like Trump and his crazed followers will never understand. Not everything in politics is political bias and loyalties. Partisanship may come into play when it comes to campaigns and the making of law. Once the law is made, we all agree to abide by it or pay the consequences. That’s what “a rule of law versus kings” (or mob bosses) means.

An agent of the State must bring charges against a dangerous person in order to protect society from predators. The reason District Attorney Alvin Bragg brought the charges the way he did was because Bill Barr, Trump’s then-Attorney General squashed the federal investigation into the case. By proving these misdemeanor business charges were committed to cover up another crime, he was able to elevate them to the status of felonies.

That other crime were felony offences against federal election law, the depriving of the people of the United States a free and fair election by suppressing information of himself as a candidate that could have damaged his chances of a win. Knowing he had a good chance of losing, he “got out in front of it” by suppressing damaging information against him, and crying “Rigged!” in the event he lost.

He’s doing the same thing again of course, in the event he loses again. He’s stoking the narrative, “talking up” “Rigged!” to enrage his “fans” ahead of time.

The damnable aspect of this whole absurd situation, hanging over the heads of an unworthy population, is that the polls are this close at all. After all we’ve known about this man nine years on now, he ought to have been a footnote in American history long ago. He and his followers spew forth wild, irresponsible conspiracy theories about everything under the sun, yet in this trial, a true conspiracy was proven. Donald Trump, David Pecker and Michael Cohen put together a plan in 2015 called “Catch and Kill” to not just bury embarrassing stories about him, but put forth fake news stories about Hillary Clinton and other critics.

As political analyst John Heilemann has put it, everything with this man is either confession or projection. Either way, it’s gaslighting an entire population, of convincing them up is down and down is up. You know, sort of the way the Satanic world depicts everything, consciously or otherwise.

Line By Line

Trump knows that everything he said outside that courtroom is a lie and worse yet, all his followers know they’re lies. Unless in their gullibility, they actually believe this man’s bilge, this coming of “the Man of Lawlessness” (II Thess 2:11 RSV).

What follows is a blow-by-blow analysis of every lie he told in his short statement. Take his words as a Master Class by a world class con man.

“This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt.” “Conflicted” and “corrupt” is exactly what this man is, and was just proven inside by a jury of his peers. Projecting those things upon Judge Juan Merchan who showed amazing amounts of patience and even-handedness to ensure Donald Trump got a fair trial, is just what he does. It’s done instinctively, it’s done tactically, and it’s done knowingly by a man who always doubles down on his guilt.

“They wouldn’t give us a venue change. We were at 5% or 6% in this district in this area.” 5 or 6% refers to Trump voters, true or not. This is what he thinks of his followers, that they would never show any sense of integrity or responsibility as to follow the facts. Otherwise, he could have counted upon them to be as corrupt and cynical as him, and produce a hung jury.

This was Trump’s hope until just before the devastating verdict. He and his attorney Todd Blanche were reportedly, for a change, in a light-hearted mood, joking and laughing when everyone was called back into the courtroom. Why? Because the longer a jury takes to deliberate, the generally better it is for the defense. It was almost 4:30, and Merchan had just said he would send the jury home for a second night when he got a note that the jury had reached a verdict. Apparently Trump needed more than 5 or 6%.

“This was a rigged, disgraceful trial but the real verdict is going to be November 5 by the people.” No, the real verdict just took place inside a court room dedicated to finding “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth” that our judicial system is based upon.

While liars like him and Jay Sekulow prattle on about a “two-tiered system of justice” that the Democrats have supposedly set up against Republicans, the truth is, America does have and has long had a “two-tiered system of justice,” that rich, entitled white guys like him can manipulate and clog up with their wealth. The poor cannot afford to hire lawyers to “clean up all details,” and they usually get railroaded with plea deals, even when they’re innocent.

“And they know what happened here and everybody knows what happened here.” Well, ok. He did say something true here. Everyone deep inside knows Stormy Daniels et. al. didn’t make all this up.

“You have a Soros-backed DA and the whole thing.” In his dreams.

“We didn’t do a thing wrong. I’m a very innocent man.” Of course you are. It’s always everybody else’s fault.

“And it’s Ok. I’m fighting for our country. I’m fighting for our Constitution. Our whole country is being rigged right now.” Of course you are.

“This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt a political opponent.” In your dreams again. The word “devil” means slanderer, false accuser.

“And I think it’s just a disgrace and we’ll keeping fighting, we’ll fight to the end and we’ll win because our country’s gone to hell.” Well, it nearly went to hell on January 6. Now he wants to pardon this small army of violent fanatics, canonizing them as martyrs in his rallies.

“We don’t have the same country anymore. We have a divided mess.” Really!?! And who exactly caused all this division, Mr. Russian Agent of Chaos? Even after all these years, we still don’t have an answer to the 140 contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia in the 2016 election.

The Bible does have a solution for such a problem—“Cast out the scoffer and the strife shall cease; yea, quarrels and insults shall end.” (Prov 22:10). Truly, Donald Trump is today’s Absalom, the eternal “rebel without a cause.”

“We’re a nation in decline, serious decline.” Actually in some ways we’re still the envy of the world. Yet according to recent polls, over half the US thinks we’re in the middle of a recession, think our stock market is down (it’s at an all-time high, and that unemployment is at a 50 year high (actually it’s only 4%)! This is the power of right-wing lies and propaganda, shamelessly spewing forth from 1700 stations in America.

“Millions and millions of people pouring into our country right now from prisons, and from mental institutions, terrorists, and they’re taking over our country.” More fever dreams from his demented imagination. And to what small degree it’s true, you can blame him and his Republican sycophants for undermining any solution to it.

“We have a country that’s in big trouble, but this was a rigged decision right from day one from a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case. Never.” Now you’re just winging it, repeating yourself.

 “And we will fight for our constitution.” Sure you will.

“This is long from over.” Yes, unfortunately.

“Thank you very much.” No, you’re not thankful. You’d just as soon eviscerate that press you’re talking to, enemies of the people all.

All this was preceded by his Memorial Day tweet:

“Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country, & to the Radical Left, Trump Hating Federal Judge in New York that presided over, get this, TWO separate trials…” yada, yada, yada.

A real class act this guy. And yet he may get back in there, and I’m wondering if Biden’s trouble with Israel will have anything to do with it.

In fact, I apologize for the lack of posting last month. I want to finish the Christian Nationalism series, but I’ve been sidetracked by developments with Israel. Plus other commitments in my life. I pray you all will be patient with me.

Wow, I’m so shocked. A new report by Pro Publica reveals that Donald Trump has been bribing potential witnesses in his criminal trials, yet more felonies:

“Nine witnesses in the criminal cases against former President Donald Trump have received significant financial benefits, including large raises from his campaign, severance packages, new jobs, and a grant of shares and cash from Trump’s media company.

The benefits have flowed from Trump’s businesses and campaign committees, according to a ProPublica analysis of public disclosures, court records and securities filings. One campaign aide had his average monthly pay double, from $26,000 to $53,500. Another employee got a $2 million severance package barring him from voluntarily cooperating with law enforcement. And one of the campaign’s top officials had her daughter hired onto the campaign staff, where she is now the fourth-highest-paid employee.”

Wow squared. $50,000 a month! Nice work if you can get it. Trump of course, couldn’t care less since it’s not his money. It’s your campaign donations, doormats. Get up off your knees.
